The project “CSA-CycleSeeing Attractour”, co-financed by the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020. from the European Regional Development Fund, officially ended on July 31, 2022.
Numerous activities took place in the last reporting period.
Two children’s creative workshops were held in Štrigova and Nagykanizsa, and one workshop for tourism experts in Štrigova, which was attended by experts from Štrigova and Nagykanizsa in the field of tourism (tourist guides, accommodation providers, employees of tourism boards).
Also, two cycling events were organized in which a large number of cyclists participated. The first held cycling event was organized in Štrigova on July 9, 2022, where cyclists had the opportunity to get to know Štrigova and its beauties, but also to visit the Bike info center itself with a lookout tower on Mađerka hill. In Nagykanizsa, a cycling event was held on July 16, where many cyclists got to know Nagykanizsa and the beauty of Lake Csónakázó, and finally had the opportunity to try out the newly built pumptrack.
Ceremonial openings of newly built attractions were also held. To begin with, the Eco visitor center in Nagykanizsa by Lake Csónakázó and the new pumptrack were opened on July 16. Along with the opening ceremony, the final conference was held. In Štrigova, more precisely in Robadje on Mađerka hill, the Bike info center with a lookout tower was officially opened. Also, the final conference of the CSA project was held there, along with the ceremonial opening.
Newly opened tourist attractions will attract a greater number of tourists to the cross-border area, and together with the created tourist packages, the stay of the tourists themselves in the tourist destinations will be extended. The installation of road signs towards the EuroVelo 13 route was also carried out, and brown signage of new attractions was installed so that tourists could reach their destination as easily as possible. In addition to all of the above, a promotional campaign on CSA pages on social networks encouraged all those interested to visit the cross-border area included in this project.
With the CSA project, along with newly built and equipped tourist attractions, cross-border destination image was improved, signposting of new attractions and EV13 links was carried out, eco-labeling scheme ETIS was implemented, mobile app for measuring environmental footprint was developed, awareness on the role of tourism attractions was raised in strengthening attractiveness of the cross-border area and on the importance of nurturing natural/cultural values (cycleseeing tours, workshops, bike events for target group).
Finally, we remind you that the Cycle Seeing Attractour project started in September 2020, and its implementation includes the Municipality of Štrigova, the Tourist Board of Štrigova and the City of Nagykanizsa, while the project leader is the Public Institution for Development of Međimurje County REDEA. The total value of the project is EUR 1,463,966.46. And as new attractions from the project will be the Bike Info Center with a lookout on Mađerka Hill and the Eco Visitor Center with a pumptrack in Nagykanizsa.
